The Technology
Mass Timber or Engineered Wood Products have become revitalized within the world building construction industry since the inception of Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) that occurred in Europe in the early 1990’s, allowing longer spans and the majority of the structural materials in a building to be constructed from engineered wood products. Some members at Mass Timber Services were instrumental introducing the equipment necessary to produce CLT, helping spearhead this new construction method.
Glue Laminated Wood (Glulam)
Glue Laminated Timber (GLT)
Parallel-glued layers of wood lamella’s, bonded together with durable, moisture-resistant structural adhesives. When turned on its side for different structural purposes it is referred to as GLT. Cross Laminated Timber (CLT)
Glued layers of solid sawn lumber with each layer oriented perpendicular to adjacent layers and glued on the wide faces of each board so outer layers have the same orientation.Decorative
These particular panel products are utilized for the ‘face’ or ‘look’ of a building – in a lobby, as an accent wall in an office or condominium, external soffit, as encapsulation material for less appealing structural surfaces. Finishing touches through decorative engineered wood applications enhance the biophilia of a building, increasing the value of the space.
Fineline Panel
Fineline panels are a patented 3-Ply product made from a core panel of Spruce with a further two layers of laminated veneer lumber adhered to the core panel, making a very, very unique and visually beautiful panel.
3-Ply + 5-Ply Softwood Panels
Multilayer crosswise gluing of wood material with specific drying (wood moisture 8% ± 2%) and professional processing of the top slat and middle layer ensures additional stability.
3-Ply Hardwood Panels
Same as 3-layer softwood panel – just thicker panels due to additional layers and higher end hardwood surface.
